The place is fantastic, especially if you’re looking for something quiet and relaxing. I tried very hard to find a hotel with such a view on a very beautiful beach without the crowds of tourists. Staff are very friendly and helpful making sure that you have a great time.
Beautiful hotel that feels like you are in a private slice of paradise. We experienced so much kindness and care from every member of their staff (front desk, servers, bar tenders, housekeepers, pool tender, etc). We had a gorgeous salt water pool steps from our room and beach access mere steps away. The most important thing to note about this hotel is it is far from town (45 min drive). The hotel did coordinate a taxi to pick us up at the port (for a fee), but after that we actually took the bus into town (€3.50 per person which is a fraction compared to the €40 taxi) Highly recommend using the bus system! We actually took it back from the hotel to the port to leave. The stop is right in front of the hotel and while it is an hour drive, it was a fun experience to see the island (and all the cars move out of the way as a giant bus comes through). Ask the front desk for the schedule and be prepared they run on island time (so the bus was always a little late). There is a restaurant within walking distance that the hotel recommended that was beyond delicious (Faros Tou Alykou) but be extremely cautious walking there at night because it’s a very dark and winding path. My only feedback would be to improve the menu options at the hotels. The breakfast was great with lots of options but dinner felt a little flat (we would often walk to Faros before sunset instead). Lunch was good (we would get the chicken club which was big enough to split for two people) and they would bring it to you at the pool or beach. Also the chocolate ice cream is magical! Highly recommend! For the beach we just stayed by the hotel. There are other beaches close by that would have been nice to see but we enjoyed having the lounge chairs. It is a little rocky and shallow so bring water shoes if you want to swim.
Five star prices for one star quality. You know a place doesn’t respect you when they can’t even serve BREAD in an edible form. Horrendous tourist trap for food and service, do not come here. Overpriced ($17 for a $3 kebab, $5 for a shot of espresso), all served stone cold. Bread so hard it can cut marble - see video. Chicken extremely dry, stale, pre made, the only thing fresh is the coat of rust on the beach chairs. Ive had actual $3 kebab at roadside places and it’s way better. No apologies, no respect for the customer, no respect for themselves as a very pricey hotel. They also insisted on charging extra for beach chairs which were totally empty, when most places include them with food. The beach chairs are not secure (and very rusty) so they keep snapping back and forth and hitting you in the back of your head. I’ve not seen that anywhere else. The biggest positive is I got a tetanus shot, so, small victories. I wouldn’t be this annoyed if the staff had taken meaningful action when I complained. They were very confused and disorganised and UNapologetic, and I was basically the only client they served in that time. Shaking head in disbelief. I recommend , instead, to go to the cute local eatery further down at the end of the beach which also has sunbeds for clients. Basically they serve the same food, but you know, hot. To manager: the kitchen staff (30/5 afternoon shift) is insanely lazy, serious problems with who you hired there. You should have enough respect for customers to actually apologise and deal with feedback instead of just replying with “nothing we can do” (I believe the young waitress working the 4 pm shift snorted sarcastically with laughter when I said the feedback should be taken seriously- nice job with your hiring). And if anyone replies to this message, just know that the time you took to message back should have been time you take to actually take care of a customer when they were there in the flesh. If you had taken the time in flesh, you wouldn’t need a PR team to write back online because there wouldn’t need to have been a one star review.
