Finnstown Castle Hotel

First room they gave me was in the annex. I was very impressed with the space. Two double beds and enough room to dance naked, drinking champagne, with a towel round my head. Unfortunately there were no curtains or blinds, so I was relocated to the main building and given a smaller room. Still, very clean, comfortable and convenient. I imagine this would be a good hotel to have a wedding in, as the garden areas are beautiful and would.make a food setting for photos.

Had afternoon tea here on an idle Sunday. The grounds of the hotel are lovely but the interior is in need of a refresh. Everything from the seating to the carpet etc. looks worn and dated. The tea service itself was just OK. Some of the selection was nice but others parts not so much. Staff are wonderful I must say. They asked for our dietary preference and had a vegetarian selection of sandwiches. But these were just OK. I would normally expect something a little more special in an afternoon tea service. I would not return her for Afternoon tea, as its not good value. Not a bad spot if you want to meet friends over just a cup of tea as it's an oasis removed from the hubbub of the usual coffee shops in busy locations.

This 4 star hotel is permanently closed since 2 years. Now it's running as an emergency accommodations for families and single women.
