I was in Barre VT responding to the massive flooding of July 2024 as I own a Thermal Drone Company and was there as part of a volunteer rescue team. The owner, Valerie, got me a room last minute, and went out of her way to make my stay as amazing as possible! The rooms are so unique, with lots of memorabilia, and I stayed in both the LT and the CPT rooms. The rooms are HUGE, huge bathrooms, and they have all of the usual amenities and much more! Each room has this wonderful character and charm about them! Everything is spotless and you just get the feeling that the owners take great pride in keeping each of the four available rooms in tip-top shape! Below the rooms (you are on the second floor) is the Engine 1 Grille. The food is amazing too! So you don't even have to leave to grab a great meal! I am a person that would still leave a criticism even in a very positive review, but I can't think of one. I will be coming back here and recommending this to anyone! A job well done!
The Firehouse Inn is a super unique experience! We visited on our way up to tour UVM this weekend and stayed in The Chief's Room. The room was large, nicely decorated and really comfortable. Located on the second floor of a renovated fire station, it has a ton of character and history. The first floor is a restaurant called the Ladder 1 Grill. (Also excellent!) The restaurant closes at 9:00 so it isn't too loud for guests staying in the inn. Downtown Barre is also very nice with a variety of shops and restaurants. We had breakfast at Maria's Bagels which had a great variety of bagels, cream cheeses and an excellent bagel sandwich If you're fan of architecture, old fire houses or looking for a little history and a unique experience I would highly recommend staying here!
Well we were super excited to stay here because of the reviews however 4 days before our reservations we got a call they double booked. We had to find another place that was more expensive and further from the wedding we were attending. Just have a back up plan if you book with this place.
