The hotel is generally good, one star less due to the missing electrical outlets in the room. To charge your phone you are stuck with a super slow charging port available by your bedside otherwise you need to hunt for a socket where the kettle and the other appliances are located. Also, the hotel is nowhere close to the street served by the free airport shuttle, therefore you either have a nice km walk with your luggage or call the hotel to arrange a shuttle at the cost of 5€. I cannot rate the service besides saying that the reception was welcoming, and I also cannot rate the meals as I didn't get the chance to have breakfast.
The goods: 1. The rooms were big and nice. 2. The shampoo and soap bottles were empty when we arrived, but upon informing the reception- they were apologetic and quick to replace- no harm done. 3. The surrounding was quiet. 4. Gave us early check in for extra bucks (less than a whole night tariff) The bads: 1. The pick up service was costly because they charge per person and not per room. 2. FOOD SERVICE😭 - so I understand the dinner culture in Italy is post 7/7:30 PM- but this is an airport hotel for travelers - we cross timezones and oceans to reach Milan and not necessarily get hungry (on the day of traveling) approx at 7:30 pm - they need to normalize +/- 1 hour given it’s a lodging for people who are traveling. 3. We stayed there Sat night and the pamphlet in the room said “Restaurants open from Mon/Tuesday to Saturday”. It said closed Sundays but nothing about Saturday. So we called the reception just to be sure and asked for 6 pm room delivery to which they said No- and told us they strictly start 7 pm for dinner and we have to wait. We waited and called at 7- and another receptionist told us that the restaurant is not open on Saturdays…. We travelled to a 7 hours time difference zone, and we’d been travelling over 27 hours - last thing we needed was “I don’t know about the room pamphlet or who told you to wait- we are closed on Saturdays“. 4. So there’s a free bus service to and from airport to a nearby bus stop (near the holiday inn hotel) - but we didn’t know the bus service was free- the hotel asked us if we needed shuttle to go to the airport train station - we had seen the bus on google maps and told them we’d like to take the bus instead and if they could tell us if tapping our cards was ok instead of paying cash - to which the staff said “we don’t know about any bus service here”. Now…. I don’t want to go to lengths on this but I am pretty sure they knew.
Near Malpensa with €5 shuttle = good. Way overpriced for the condition of the room: hair and nail clipping on the bathroom counter and dried urine on the side of the seat. I always bring clorox wipes, so I cleaned myself bc I'm tired and don't want a hassle at the desk. The chairs in room look like they came out of the trash with ripped and worn edges. The curtains have small holes from fraying or moths. Pretty lame for €128 plus the shuttle costs. The shower was great and the AC is great, too. I have stayed at hostels that were cleaner but it's my last night in Italy after a 6 week trip & many snafus the last few days bc Italia! Restaurant doesn't open until 7 p.m. so better not be hungry when you arrive.
