Excellent accommodation in a tranquil setting, with a kind host. Creel Lodge has a tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation is only a short walk away from the Tongariro River and provides facilities for trout fishers. The accommodation is ideally situated for those wanting to explore the many outdoor attractions of the wider area. It is also within comfortable walking distance of the Tūrangi town centre, where food outlets, supermarkets, shops, and other services can be found. The buildings of Creel Lodge are set within a beautiful, well-established garden, surrounded by trees and birdsong. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful host, who told us about local Matariki events and very kindly allowed us a late checkout, which we'd requested in advance. Our cabin was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. A fresh floral arrangement from the garden was a lovely, welcoming touch. Everything required for a short or longer stay was supplied, including many 'extras'. In addition to the advertised amenities, the kitchen had a full-sized oven. There was also an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe and an electric blanket on the bed. The easy-to-use climate control kept the room at a comfortable temperature, and a small heater was also provided. The shower was great, and we slept very comfortably in the bed. This was the perfect stay to recharge our batteries. We highly recommend Creel Lodge and would return here anytime.

Just the best. If you want motel style accommodation inn Turangi why would you go anywhere else? All units are semi or fully detached in landscaped mature gardens with amazing birdsong and the river at the back gate.

Perfect place to stay for a young family! Really spacious with everything you need. Great to use as a base for a trip to Mt Ruapehu.
