Stayed for one night (Sunday) for a very reasonable £49.50. The property has a large car park, and is a popular location for food and drinks. And what a spectacular location it is, right beside a river with an old stone bridge crossing it. Our room (no.22) was at the very far end of the car park and was reached via some steep stairs. Unfortunately no river view here - I would imagine these were only available in rooms 1-3, towards the car park entrance. Some of the rooms, including ours, and 1-3 are in a lodge, so have a shared entrance. Our room was a reasonable size, with a king sized bed, a bath and shower, and two charging points on either side of the bed. All of the staff we engaged with were super friendly. I can't comment on the main courses, as we didn't order these. However, we did order from the starters and sides towards the end of food-serving time (8pm); cayenne pepper whitebait, sweet potato fries, sticky chicken wings, halloumi fries with chilli jam. All perfectly fine. The bar has all the choices you'd expect from a Marston's inn, and a small range of cocktails. Our room was relatively warm due to the weather, but a large portable plug-in fan was provided in the room. Although busy, we could barely hear any noise from the pub or the area outside during the time spent in the room. For the price we paid and its stunning location, I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We didn't stay there so can't comment on the rooms. Below average food in an excellent location. Right by the river, be prepared to wait for the food. It took an hour from ordering and it wasn't busy. Would probably just have a drink next time and get food elsewhere. Friendly staff. Clean

This hotel is a lovely setting by the river however it needs a lot of work. The rooms are tired and worn. No air conditioning at all and the bathroom shape meant we had to bend in the shower to wash (with a bit of a rearrangement this bathroom could have a walk in shower) We didn’t eat here for dinner but family members did and they weren’t impressed. No mini fridge in the rooms either and for £150 a night I think it’s expensive for the quality (I stay in London weekly and can get a lot nicer for this budget) I think the hotel relies on trade for wedding venues nearby too. The nicest part was the breakfast cooked to order. The continental part not so good needs a bit more selection such as yogurts and fruits. Overall we stayed here because we had to and we wouldn’t choose to again. The staff were nice enough doing the best they could on limited resourcing as it was often a long wait to get served.
