We had an amazing experience at The Five. We got two adjoining rooms for our family of 5, and were very comfortable. The kids loved the pillow selection option. The Italian restaurant at the hotel was excellent - top notch Italian. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure I could get celiac safe meals. Also, there is a huge system of trails accessible from right behind the property. Overall, this is a great property!
The rooms are spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with every detail curated for comfort and aesthetics. The dining options are top-tier — especially The Penthouse, which offers not only amazing food but also breathtaking panoramic views of Zurich. The service was impeccable throughout my stay. Every team member was welcoming, helpful, and professional — making the experience feel both exclusive and personal.
Worst Stay - Ever Liked · Nothing Disliked · There is absolutely nothing enjoyable about this hotel. Although it claims to be a five-star property, we wouldn’t even rate it as one star. Here is a summary of our experience: 1. Location – The hotel is situated in an area with no access to public transportation. It truly feels as if it’s in the middle of a remote village. 2. Initial Impression – The lobby may look impressive at first glance, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ends. 3. Room Assignment – We were placed in the East Wing, which is extremely inconvenient. Reaching it requires walking what feels like endless corridors, through a poorly lit, maze-like environment that feels unsettling and unsafe. Although staff offered to drive us there, we were told it was just a “2-minute walk,” which was completely untrue. 4. Condition of the East Wing – The facilities are so outdated that it feels like stepping back several centuries. The elevator is tiny—barely fitting one person—making it nearly impossible to move luggage without multiple trips. 5. Room Quality & Complaint Handling – When we raised concerns, we were told that no rooms were available in the main building and that our booking had always been for the East Wing(It was never mentioned that East Wing and Main hotel looks centuries apart-literally and figuratively). While they offered complimentary breakfast as compensation, we weren’t interested in food—we simply wanted a comfortable stay, which they failed to provide. 6. Room Size – The room itself was shockingly small, by far the most cramped we have experienced during our travels in Europe. 7. Overall Experience – We strongly advise against booking this hotel. It is overpriced, misleadingly advertised, and far from the standards of a five-star property.
