We cannot confirm the previous 1-star rating because of the living room! We had a very nice week in Wallgau in this extremely tastefully (!) furnished apartment. Not a standard holiday apartment, you can tell that people don't just rent but also live here. The whole apartment has a bit of an artistic feel to it, but it takes an eye to see it :-) And with all the pillows, it's almost impossible not to set up a cozy corner. We look forward to hopefully being able to be there again next year. Thank you also for your trust in the “precious items” (your valuable book collection).
Opinions differ here and there, and everyone's taste is different. But Mr. Peyerl's criticisms here are highly questionable. It's not his apartment, after all, so he has to accept everything as it is. No landlord can do anything about guests' unfit behavior, for example, when showering or sitting. This is our second time staying in the apartment and we've already booked for next year. You have to look very closely to find something negative. We feel very comfortable, and yes, the furnishings are also absolutely perfect. We felt at home, as always!
Trip to Wallgau (2 weeks at the beginning of September 2024) The landscape there is very attractive for our taste and the possibilities for leisure activities are very extensive. But now to the holiday apartment: Our experiences in this apartment were initially positive when we entered the rooms, but that changed over the course of our vacation. The hallway is huge and has plenty of space to store shoes and jackets. The bathrooms: Both are well equipped, one with shower and toilet, the other with shower, bath and toilet. The water pressure in the showers was extremely good. Both showers could be used at the same time and there were no temperature changes. The only drawback: the entrances to the showers in both rooms were very high and the width of the entrances was narrow. In the larger bathroom you had to exit the shower cubicle backwards to avoid your foot slipping in the shower. Then the bedrooms. Here too, everything was fine, there was enough closet space, only the clothes hangers were saved. But we also know this from other holiday apartments The kitchen: It is well equipped and we didn't miss anything. The layout of the kitchen cupboards and drawers takes some getting used to. The refrigerator is behind the entrance door and the marks on the refrigerator door indicate that the two doors have collided several times in the past. Now to the problem area of this apartment, the living room, in which pieces of furniture that are no longer used have been cobbled together from several other apartments. In detail: The sideboard and the cupboard are locked and cannot be used as storage space, apart from the cover of the sideboard. The seating consists of a painted wrought iron bench and a table. There are also two armchairs made of plastic mesh. It's easy to see that this thrown together ensemble is garden furniture. You can sit on it, but it's not comfortable. Above it hangs a candlestick, parts of which are already missing, so low that a normal-sized person has to stand up carefully to avoid hitting their head. This part is also made of iron, it is not possible to tell whether it is antique or rusted. But the absolute hard part is the other features. The armchairs are so narrow and the seat height is so low that it is not possible to sit comfortably. There are three possible sitting positions (arms wedged between the siderest and body, hands obediently folded in your lap or placed above shoulder height on the siderests) but after half an hour you have to leave these pieces of furniture. To make it even more uncomfortable, the owner has set up a chest instead of a table (under which you could stretch your feet), which effectively prevents this. The mattress landscape (4m long and 80cm deep) built into the side wall also prevents comfortable sitting. Either backless to put your feet on the floor or with the many cushions available (which slip after a short time) between your back and the wooden back wall. Another piece of furniture is an eye-catcher at first glance: a lounge chair with a footrest. But this too became very uncomfortable after a very short time. The only bright spot is the corner balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain landscape (weather permitting). Since the living room is one of the most important rooms for relaxation, this apartment gets a very poor rating from us.
