Flagship London Finchley

The rooms are slightly dated but it didn't put us off, everything worked and everything was clean, which is most important. An absolute steal at £50 a night, stayed here when going to a gig at Alexandra Palace and it's a great location for that, McDonald's, bowling alley, Wagamamas, pizza hut and an Italian right next door. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs which was really really nice, drinks were reasonably priced and staff were really nice and friendly. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

Better than some of the reviews here would suggest, although there are definitely some flaws. The room is large and comfortable, with plenty of space for stays of multiple nights. WiFi is strong and does a good job. Check in was efficient and quick. Prices seem to vary a lot, but I feel like I got quite a good deal. The location is absolutely fine. There's an entertainment complex next door, with a cinema, bowling alley and the usual array of restaurants. West Finchley tube station is a twenty minute walk away through a reasonable neighbourhood, and there is a bus stop a minute away from the hotel. There are a few negatives: - Sound proofing on the windows isn't great, leaving you at the mercy of traffic or loud voices from below. - My room was only refreshed once during a week's stay. - Shower pressure and temperature is pretty poor. These minor grumbles aside, I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and need somewhere unspectacular but reliable to stay.

The staff are very good and polite. However to call this hotel Flagship is not so good. The carpets are stained in the room and corridors. The lift sounds like it wants to give up and the shower in the room was held together with tape. Little bits of mould in the bathroom and the tiles were cracked. Generally the surfaces were clean and the bed was comfy. The location was good for what I needed and has plenty of things to do outside the hotel, cinema, bowling, food outlets, leisure centre.
