ATTENTION to anyone considering booking at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort – especially an owner’s villa! Here’s the deal: We stayed at the resort for 10 nights—4 in an owner’s villa and 6 at the hotel itself. While both are in the same area, the experience was completely different. The hotel is a true 5-star resort, while the owner’s villa felt more like an unregulated guesthouse. What you need to know about owner’s villas: These are privately owned properties located within the resort grounds but are not managed by the hotel—think of them as Airbnbs inside the resort. Hidden costs: Staying in an owner’s villa means you must pay VND 150k per adult and 105k per child per day just to enter the resort grounds. This fee is NOT included in your booking price. Limited access to resort facilities: If you want to use hotel amenities, you’ll need to pay extra: VND 50k per adult / 35k per child per day for the swimming pool VND 100k per visit for the kids club VND 299k per entry for the Korean sauna VND 256k per person for breakfast (our villa claimed to include breakfast, but the owner did not provide it) Quality varies drastically: Our villa was dirty, not properly cleaned, and had spoiled food left in the fridge. Price Comparison – Is It Worth It? For a 2 adults + 1 child stay, here’s how the costs add up: Owner’s Villa Costs: Villa rent: 900k VND Resort entrance fee: 150 + 150 + 105k VND Breakfast (if not included): 256 + 256k VND Swimming pool: 50 + 50 + 35k VND Kids club: 100k VND Korean sauna: 299k VND Total: 2,350k VND (not including any other expenses) Hotel Costs: Hotel stay in a spacious 1br unit with breakfast, swimming pool, and kids club included: 1,800k VND Hotel stay in a spacious 1br unit with breakfast, HUGE dinner, swimming pool, kids club, and Korean sauna once per day: 2,550k VND Our Advice? If you're looking for a stress-free, luxury experience, book directly with the hotel. The actual cost of staying in a villa is not much lower than the hotel, but you get way less comfort, service, and quality. With the hotel, everything is included—no surprise fees, no hassle. 💡 Bottom Line: Don’t be fooled by the slightly cheaper villa price. Once you add all the hidden costs, you might as well book the hotel and enjoy a real 5-star resort experience.
