Fletcher Duinhotel Burgh Haamstede

Great hotel, room large and very clean. Huge bathroom with separate bath and shower. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, kindly speaking English to us. Breakfast buffet was fantastic, many choices. As the weather was fine, we were able to eat outside on the terrace as well.

Rather basic hotel but in nice location. Friendly receptionists. Very basic room with poor quality beds. Very basic restaurant. Reheated fish and chips. Got charged for water. Breakfast very basic in depressing room. Cannot understand why this hotel should be four star.

The service was good. The people were friendly and doing their best, but unfortunately that's not enough. To start with the food, the mixed grill we had was really really small, the meat was not tender and though it was edible, the looks were far from great. We had a receptionist and waitress who both couldn't speak Dutch, which was no problem for us, but they seemed to be a bit unexperienced. I think the cook was as well. As for the room, everything looked nice, but there are a few small things that should be better for a four star restaurant. The handheld shower head showed signs of leafing (rust) and there was quite some limescale on it. An easy fix to clean that. The beds were made up nicely but we ordered an extra bed for which they used the foldable sofa. But unfortunately they did not even fold out the sofa to turn it into a bed but merely spread the sheets over the sitting area of the sofa. In all, an ok hotel and restaurant if it were a two star hotel.
