I have spend many nights here in 2013 and 2014 while on a business assignment, so I believe I can judge what was offered then. The hotel is definitely past its prime. Rooms (and I have seen most of them of them from the inside) are very comfortable and well appointed, but in a romantic / classic / dated style. Bathroom facilities are definitely outdated and not up to standard. Prices are not overly high, but one expects more. The restaurant serves very good meals, but in small portions. Staff is very professional, but lacked a personal touch that made me looked after. As a returning customer I did not always feel welcome. I can recommend de Kieviet but don't expect the best.

Not an international hotel - waiters in the restaurant are not able to translate the menu for you, when you´re not familiar with dutch. The reception area is cleaned in the morning with a hoover, when you're supposed to enjoy your breakfast. Once the hotel was modern, but today it needs maintenance. And it's located next to a very busy road!

Stayed here because it was the closest venue to sit my Uni exam... would never stay here otherwise. The hotel markets itself towards couples and I can honestly say if I had checked in here for a weekend away with my partner I would have cried. The rooms have surely never been updated and have not been properly cleaned in a long time. The entrance and restaurant looked promising and it is located in the most expensive neighbourhood of the area (a long way from central), but the rooms are appalling. The carpet was covered in multiple brown stains, window was broken and didn't close properly and the desk had a thick layer of filth. Staff were friendly enough but the management is deluded charging over 100 euro per person to stay in those rooms.
