Stayed here to be within 30/40 mins of Rotterdam Ahoy. Location was ok for this purpose but had 2 hot nights being bitten by mosquitoes which made my whole trip uncomfortable. All could have been avoided if they had put fans in the room or installed air-con as I would have not needed to open the patio doors to cool the room which subsequently let the mosquitoes in. My two colleagues had no issues with heat or bugs as their rooms were cooler due to the room location in the building. In general the hotel is a little tired looking, rooms have poor frustrating layouts (my room was A12) and are not cleaned well with splatted bugs on the walls and dust build up on skirting boards and under beds. The picture leaves open questions for me for this hotel’s hygiene. On the plus side, the staff were helpful lending me a phone charger and a big tin of bug spray 😬
Over the past few years we have stayed in a great number of Fletcher hotels on mini breaks, and while all of them have been of different grades of quality, we were always satisfied. Not this time, I'm afraid. The room was terribly lit, the bathroom mirror almost impossible to use due to very dim lighting, the TV was placed in a position making it impossible to watch comfortably, there was a table and 3 comfortable chairs, but no light available to read or write anything. The staff were not outrightly unfriendly, but indifferent and uninterested. The bed was nice. The breakfast buffet was complete, but a bit carelessly thrown together. These are all issues that can be fixed. Good luck.
This is a shabby, neglected establishment. The check-in process was terrible, the carpets throughout were filthy, and the mattresses were so soft they felt like they hadn't been replaced in decades. Without air conditioning, you're forced to open windows and breathe in cigarette smoke from people smoking outside. The shower features only one generic dispenser that supposedly covers shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. While parking is free, it's first-come, first-served. The WiFi crawls at glacial speeds. Everything about this establishment screams "run away." I'm genuinely puzzled by what those five-star reviewers were thinking.
