I love this place its my 8 year here but room prices have increased like 80% -100% or more for the same rooms and nothing new done in the room the toilets are like 2012 bad showers but the staff is great,at the restaurant evrybody nice and helpful, the food is good and the place it well taken care and very clean.the sea is wonderful and the garden is ideal for families.
Soleil Resort is overall okay, though a bit run down and in need of renovation. While the staff appears attentive, unfortunately it’s mostly just a façade. Customer complaints are not taken seriously. We reported multiple times that guests were reserving large parts of the beach for days, leaving others with limited access. Despite several reassurances from management, no action was taken. That lack of responsability made the situation even more frustrating.
A Motel Masquerading as a Resort — Avoid This Tourist Trap We stayed at SOLEIL Village & Villas in Jale Beach, lured by polished photos promising beachfront luxury. In reality, we paid over €400 per night for what turned out to be an overpriced motel experience—wearing the mask of a high-end resort but delivering none of the service, comfort, or quality you’d expect. Let’s start at the beginning. We booked three weeks in advance with a credit card and received a confirmation. Then, the night before check-in, we got a frantic call saying our card hadn’t gone through and our booking might be canceled. They’d waited until the last minute to process it—pure mismanagement. We had to scramble to send a new card and fill out forms just to hold on to our reservation. Check-in day didn’t redeem the situation. Soleil is basically the budget annex of the adults-only Folie Marine next door. Everything in our “premium” suite was Folie-branded, but when we tried ordering from the room service menu, we were told we couldn’t—because the number belonged to Folie Marine. The Soleil staff eventually gave us their own number, but the message was clear: guest experience is an afterthought. Our suite—billed as the best—was perched on a steep hill, up three flights of stairs. No mention of this on the website, and with knee and back issues, it was agony. We asked to change rooms and be downgraded but had to wait three nights for availability. The new downgraded room was more accessible but came with a broken door lock, weak A/C, and even less charm. As for the “village” aesthetic? It felt more like a poor hillside neighborhood than a luxury Ionian retreat. No room service and everything required a steep hike. And the beach setup? Also a letdown. Sunbeds were packed like sardines, the umbrellas were too small to provide real shade in the heat, and the towels were old and worn—just like everything else here. The beach service was friendly, but let’s be real: that probably had more to do with our generous tips than the hotel’s standards. Then came Sunday night. Folie Marine next door hosted a loud party that went on till at least 5 a.m. The bass thudded through our room despite earplugs. Zero rest for our family. Laundry prices? €12 for a shirt. €4 for underwear. Meanwhile, a bottle of water required a trek. Breakfast? Same limited buffet every day. Management? Completely invisible. ⸻ In short: ✅ Polite reception staff ❌ Last-minute billing chaos ❌ No accessibility warnings—steep hills, no elevator ❌ Misleading in-room menu with no real room service ❌ All-night parties = no sleep ❌ No value for money—motel standards, resort prices ❌ Ridiculously overpriced laundry ❌ Beach: overcrowded sunbeds, tiny umbrellas, old towels ⸻ SOLEIL Village & Villas is a luxury resort in name only. They charge like a five-star, operate like a two-star, and care like a zero-star. If you value service, comfort, or basic hospitality—book elsewhere. ⚠️ YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. ⚠️
