Fort Resort Beemster

Came here for 2 days after working a festival, I didn’t want to leave this place, the location is off the beaten path, but nestled in quaint little neighborhood, peaceful and beautiful landscape. About 30 mins from Amsterdam central Room was large in size, the fort features tastefully left so you see the history of this bunker. I loved all the details and history. The resort was truly one of a kind, everything intentionally placed and built for you. The use of the land and elements incorporated to create this special place just left me in ah. From all the different well ness amenities, each sauna was unique in its method and design. The views and moments to relax were appreciated. This experience is like no other place you will go. Every corner was a surprise room or pool. Exploring the property was such a treat. Staff was super friendly and helpful. As I was a solo female, they were all English speaking. The only wish was to have a sauna partner, and possibly more sauna fusion sessions. You get what you pay for, though I don’t think hotel guests should have to pay to use facilities. My favorite aspects was the island area. This is a naked resort, except for first Tuesday., bring your own robe and slippers. Open late, very nice for couples.

The rooms are beautiful, the staff are incredibly friendly, the restaurant food and drinks are not too pricey and with really quick service. Spa facilities are nice and varied. I do find the wellness treatments to be on the more expensive side, but I guess it's the same in all resorts. I did treat myself to a Hamman (77 euros for 50 minutes) and loved it.

Still the best and most beautiful Spa in Holland. But food got very poor, like small portions and not so tasty as before. But most important. The rituals in the Kelo Sauna used to be magnificent! Now there are boys dancing with towels trying to be pop stars but did not feel any air moving at all. Very sad experience.
