Feels new like much of the area around it. Really friendly guys on reception and waitress were lovely. Some of the sections and bits of rooms appear slightly unfinished, but the restaurant, sky bar and reception all look amazing. Loved sitting outside during early evening with a drink and moving up to sky bar later on! Currently bus then tram required to get into centre so also recommend a railcard if youre staying for a few days.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is in a quiet location and not too far from the centre of Amsterdam. It is about 20 minutes by tram 26 but you have to walk from the hotel to the tram station in about 10 minutes. The breakfast is not very varied 19.5 euros per person. The room has all the amenities you need: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hairdryer and a bottle of water (I really like this because most European hotels don't provide this but I can't really drink tap water), coffee maker, kettle, tea and coffee and a safe. I liked the design and decoration of the room. The bed was soft and they gave me 6 pillows. I would like to give 5 stars for that but unfortunately we found some potato chip in the room on the bed from the first day we checked in. The next day we asked for the room to be cleaned when we came back. The bed and bathroom were well made but the french fries were still there. I wanted to inform the staff but they seemed busy the whole time because on the first day when we arrived there were 2 receptionists talking and not paying attention to us even though we tried to say hello and we started to say hello louder so they started to pay attention to us. I tried to ignore this because my European boyfriend warned me from the beginning that we shouldn't expect good service in Europe. But as a former receptionist at a 4-star hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, it's a bit of a shock to me, so I can only hope that the potato chips in room 901 are gone before the next guest checks in.

My stay at the hotel was very pleasant, but the waitstaff, in my opinion, was very poor. We ordered two sandwiches that arrived cold after a 40-minute wait. Our friend ordered one sandwich, less than 10 minutes later, and his order was never delivered. After waiting about an hour, I saw that the dish was ready, but no one was interested. When we paid the bill, the waitress offered to let us take the sandwich for free. SHAMEFUL. I would recommend the owner take a closer look at the kitchen team, because as a chef with 10 years of experience, I would never let cold food come out of my kitchen.
