I stayed here for 2 months total. 1 month in May and then 1 month in July. Deluxe King Room w/ breakfast. The great stuff: Rooms and storage: Both times rooms were very clean. Rooms are modern, very spacious, welcoming and don't have any funny smells (this one is important for me as I have very sensitive nose and if something smells off the whole stay would be off for me). There is a plenty storage space for my long stay. I was able to put away both of my XL suitcases out of the way and had tons of storage for my clothes, personal items and cosmetics. There is a comfortable and clean sofa to lounge on, well positioned desk looking at the room+outside so you don't have to stare at the wall. My 2nd room in July had a swivel chair by the window which gave it a nice touch and a relaxing space to just sit by the "floor to ceiling, wall to wall" windows and look outside. Views: From the 14th floor, I was able to view Linkou Bus station, Mitsui outlet Park (mall), city buildings, mountains, A9 MRT tracks leading to the A8 Chang Gung Hospital, Guishan Sports Park pond, View straight ahead of the hotel is apartment bldg with a roof pool. Bed: very comfortable and you can ask for different pillows or more blankets. I liked what I had so didn't need to make any arrangements. There are outlets near the bed, lamps and a kill switch for all lights - which was nice when you forgot to turn off the lights in the bathroom, etc. Portion of the wall near the couch/desk is a dark mirror which makes it nice large mirror but it's not awkward because it's tinted dark - makes it very classy. Bathroom: Toilet room was separate from the actual bathroom, which was nice (I don't like the toilet where my toothbrush lives). Toilet had a bidet. Toilet room and bathroom was separated with a wardrobe. Bathroom itself has very spacious counter (it fit all my cosmetics - a lot!), my dyson air wrap case, and more. there was additional makeup mirror on the wall. There is also a shelf underneath the sink for more storage. Walk in Shower is separated by a door and it includes a wet tub. Shower is very spacious and water pressure is great! The wall is a dark glass that transmits little bit of light from the outside so during the day the shower room has some natural light coming in.Carpet was clean with occasional spots that were spot cleaned previously. Pool: The space is nice but the pool is not heated, so it's it's not super hot outside it will be very cold to get it (I did it anyway - in May). Gym: Not very big but gets the job done. Couple treadmills, bicycle, elliptical and free weights with a bench. No Spa onsite where you can get a massage (that would be nice). Only a steam room/sauna. Amenities: Water bottles, coffee, tea daily. You can use kettle to make coffee and tea. Slippers, hand soap bar, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and body lotion are in large bottles attached in the bathroom and are refilled if needed. Cons or room for improvement: I wish the mini fridge was a bit larger especially for long stays. Same goes to the counter space above the fridge. It's just mall square so not much that can be stored there. there is plenty of room to put some additional counter or a shelf. Shower has some mildew/mold situation in both rooms I stayed. It was in the areas where I wasn't touching or stepping so I just lived with it but I think would be nice if they redid the caulking and mitigated that. Wish the room had actual coffee maker, not just the kettle. Bathroom lighting is not the best (for a woman, anyway). I bought small rechargeable light that I attached to mirror to get a better light when doing skincare and hair. Service: People are very kind, polite and did a great job when taking care of my room. When I untucked the blanket couple times, they understood I didn't like that and they started leaving it untucked when they made my bed. Small things that mattered to me :). Would I choose this hotel again? Absolutely! If I come back I will def be staying here again!
The hotel is exceptionally well maintained and feels modern and clean, from the lobby to the rooms. I appreciated the thoughtful design of the room—especially the shower and toilet layout, which is cleverly separated so two guests can comfortably use both facilities at the same time without any inconvenience. The soundproofing was effective; I hardly heard any noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms during my stay. Plenty of charging points are available throughout the room, including direct USB ports, making it very convenient for travellers with multiple devices. The room temperature tends to run a bit cold, which I didn’t mind, but it might be worth noting for those who prefer warmer settings. One standout detail is the umbrella service at the entrance. On rainy days, staff will proactively bring out umbrellas for guests, a small gesture that speaks volumes about their attention to guest comfort. Guests can access Level 3, where you’ll find a narrow but decently sized swimming pool (note: unheated) open until 6 PM. There’s also a men’s sauna area, which typically operates on a nude-use basis and is open until 9 PM. These facilities add a nice wellness touch to the hotel experience. By default, the hotel does not provide disposable toiletries in the room. While this aligns with some modern sustainability practices, it may be inconvenient for travellers who expect items like toothbrushes or razors to be readily available. You can request them, but they come at an additional charge, which feels a bit stingy given the standards of the Marriott brand. Marriott Bonvoy members should note that room upgrades are not complimentary, even for elite status holders. This disappointed me, as it goes against the usual experience at other Marriott properties where elite benefits typically include some level of complimentary upgrade, if available. This makes the hotel feel more transactional than guest-focused in that regard.
Not good if you are a light sleeper or wish to sleep in later in the morning. Sound proofing is not good. You can hear the train in the tracks very loudly in the late night and early morning. The room is also not fully darkened when all lights are switched off, it is strange. So if you need fully darkened and soundproof room, this is not the hotel for you. There is also no club lounge or executive lounge. Not recommended if you need a long and good night sleep.
