Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan

Wonderful hotel! Breakfast - Varied each day, kind and accommodating staff, high quality. Room - spacious, comfortable, lovely view, safe not working upon arrival but sorted within minutes. Extras - Infinity pool was great and open till late, hotel attached to mall so handy At another 5-star in KL which should be rated 3 stars at most and reminiscing of our stay at Four Points. Definitely worth the money!

The room was specious and clean. But there was only one chair in the seating area and the TV is small and outdated. The toilteries were very poor  and toilet paper quality was so bad. I liked the photos of Sandakan from the 1930s in the corridors and the french windows in the room that overlook the ocean.The breakfast was good with different varieties though there was one type of cornflakes. The coffee was very good. The location of the hotel is great. The swimming pool was closed for renovation which we were informed when we booked.

Friendly staff and quite clean rooms. BUT the wifi works only near the door of the rooms and not in the whole rooms. There is no drinking water on tap so you have to drink the water they provide in plastic bottles which will finish in the sea. Such an important hotel must do something about this huge ecological issue. Also the first night there was almost no toilet paper left in our room and no soap was provided. We had to call the reception to bring it to us. So obviously the cleaning staff did not do their job properly. We also didn't appreciate the fact that in the gym there is no air-conditioning and it gets terribly hot. Water tank in the gym was empty. There were also no weights under 4kg in the gym. They should also provide bathrobes in the rooms to go to the swimming pool more comfortably. The water in the swimming pool is too cold. On the positive side the ocean view is impressive.
