We spent three days at the Four Seasons Desroches at the end of May 2025. From the outset, we knew that this stay was going to be memorable. The experience began with comfortable private transfers by air from the airport to the island of Desroches. Once we landed in Desroches, we were welcomed by Joseph, the front office manager, who was extremely friendly and showed us all the hotel's facilities, making us feel right at home. The resort is located on a beautiful island and blends in perfectly with its surroundings. You can hire a bike and explore this paradise on earth. Each beach is equipped with fresh water, towels and kayaks. You can also organise private experiences such as snorkelling or diving. The island is one of the most incredible places I have ever visited! The resorts restaurants are truly unique and serve the best food, fish and, most importantly, the best team! Special thanks go to Lai Lai, who made our time there truly unforgettable. The entire team was fantastic, and the only sad moment was when we had to leave and say goodbye. One more thing: the accommodation. We stayed in an ocean-view villa, which was stunning and perfectly located. Thank you for making our time so memorable!
Four Seasons Desroches is an exceptional private-island retreat that exceeds expectations on nearly every level, from the moment you arrive you are greeted by immaculately kept grounds, thoughtful design and a service culture that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly professional. The team manages to be attentive without being intrusive, and small, carefully considered details such as perfectly maintained gardens, well-marked paths and complimentary bicycles make exploring the island a pleasure; Desroches is larger and more varied than it first appears, with secluded coves, wide dream-sand beaches and dramatic, wave-tossed stretches all within easy reach. The villas underline this quality with outdoor showers, a very large, beautifully appointed bathroom, tasteful furnishings and an extraordinarily comfortable bed, honestly one of the best we have ever slept in, plus a private garden with a pool and direct beach access set within pristine greenery. What truly set the stay apart was the service when our circumstances were difficult: my wife travelled with a broken foot and the hotel proactively installed extra handrails at our villa before arrival, adapted transport and excursions, provided a responsive WhatsApp concierge and ensured she could take part in activities with ease; these solutions never felt like an afterthought but rather like genuine, empathetic guest care. Activities on Desroches are abundant and well organised, and each day staff ask about your plans and offer to arrange excursions tailored to your preferences; many are included in the stay and can be enjoyed at your own pace. A highlight for us was a kayaking trip with the island’s resident biologist, who spent generous amounts of time showing us the local marine life. Snorkelling, diving, surfing, yoga, jogging and cycling are all possible, and at every beach access point you will find thoughtful amenities such as chilled drinking water and fresh towels. The dining experience at the resort is consistently high in quality, and as vegetarians we were always accommodated with creativity and generosity, even luxurious ingredients like truffles were offered without hesitation. The Lighthouse restaurant, set by the sea in a uniquely atmospheric location, was a standout, while in the main restaurant the lunch menu can become a little repetitive after a week and, because everything is cooked fresh, meals can take time so we often allowed up to 90 minutes for lunch. Beverage prices are very high, with wine by the glass starting at around €60, an Aperol Spritz at €25 and an espresso at €10, so this is not the place to keep an eye on the bill. Minor negatives also included a villa pool that was a touch too cold for long, leisurely swims and a small beach stretch in front of some villas that was not always ideal for swimming, plus the natural presence of seagrass at some beaches; these small drawbacks, however, barely dent an overwhelmingly positive experience. In short, Four Seasons Desroches combines rare natural beauty with extraordinarily attentive service and high-quality villas and activities to create an unforgettable stay that felt less like checking out of a hotel and more like leaving a second home.
Amazing experience! The rooms are very pretty and the staff/service is exceptional. The location is phenomenal! The island is so beautiful and I never before had an experience like this. We biked around the island and often found ourselves alone at one of its stunning beaches. Nasreen, the biologist, showed us giant tortoises (make sure to meet Big Pete), birds, and marine life. We snorkelled with sea turtles and eagle rays. Thank you everyone in the staff that helped make our stay great, including the front desk, the restaurant staff, the buggy drivers, housekeeping, the yogi Manish, the photographer Mika, and Nasreen. I must concur with many of the previous comments, I wish we could have stayed longer, and hope to be able to return one day.
