The hotel was very clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar is a great touch with plenty of sunbeds. There is also a well equipped gym on the roof. WiFi was fast and stable throughout the hotel. Breakfast had a good variety and was tasty. The beach is just a short walk to the left out of the hotel. Also along the beach is a good choice of seafood restaurants.
The room was extremely clean. There were rubber slippers to wear and free toiletries in the bathroom. The infinity pool was great too. The staff was really polite and happy to help. Room service was fast and polite too. Breakfast menu had plenty of options and food quality was quite great for the price of the room. It is close to the airport, so it saves you a lot of time as Bali traffic can come to a standstill at any given moment and even small distances (2 to 5 kms) can take upto an hour. On the downside, our room had a bath-tub which kept spilling water outside no matter how hard we tried to not let it happen. The shower head was quite old, and had water going in all directions, which resulted in water spilling outside the tub, which then spills onto the floor. This was an everyday occurence and we had to order separate towels each day to keep the bathroom floor dry. This was the only pain-point in the entire stay.
We recently stayed at Fox Hotel Jimbaran, and I feel compelled to report several serious issues with our experience. Safety and Medical Response: During our stay, I hit my head on their rooftop bar while carrying my baby, resulting in a concussion and broken sunglasses. The staff’s response was shockingly insufficient. They offered me nothing more than an ice pack, and although I said I was okay (out of embarrassment), no one followed up or showed genuine concern. This lack of care made us feel unsafe and unsupported. Food Quality: On a separate occasion, my husband was served chicken that was clearly spoiled. He returned it and ordered a different dish, but that too appeared to contain old meat. After going back and forth with staff, they finally agreed to refund the meal. This situation raised serious concerns about food safety and kitchen hygiene. Dietary Needs: As someone with a dairy allergy, I asked if there was an alternative to cow’s milk for my coffee. I was looked at oddly and told to “just drink it black.” This kind of dismissive attitude toward dietary restrictions was frustrating and made me feel like a burden for simply trying to protect my health. Staff Behavior Toward Children: Our children are autistic, and on multiple occasions, we noticed staff staring and even laughing at them. It was deeply hurtful and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. A hospitality business should create an inclusive and respectful environment for all guests—this was far from that. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Public restrooms were consistently unclean and not well maintained. To make matters worse, cocktails were served with clearly reused disposable plastic straws—some even had visible bite marks from previous use. These are basic hygiene standards that any hotel should uphold, and Fox Hotel failed to do so. Customer Service and Amenities: We had arranged a hotel transfer in advance that was never provided, forcing us to make last-minute arrangements. Additionally, none of the electric scooters parked at the front of the hotel were working during our stay. When we raised our concerns with management, there was no real apology or accountability—only excuses and defensiveness. Overall: While the hotel may appear nice on the surface, the consistent lack of care, professionalism, and hospitality made our stay stressful and disappointing. For the safety, comfort, and dignity of your trip, I strongly recommend avoiding Fox Hotel Jimbaran. Do yourself a favor and book a private villa or a more reputable hotel instead.
