The Frederick's Hotel in Maidenhead will always have a special place in our hearts because this is where we had our most perfect, romantic wedding in May 2025. The chic interior of the hotel and the beautiful garden provided the most amazing backdrop for our wedding photos. We would like to thank Bryan for his fantastic support, not only on our big day but throughout the whole planning process which he made smooth and stress free for us. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble and they all seemed happy and ready to help when we needed them. Also thank you to the chef and the kitchen staff for the amazing food! Many of our guests have said that the food was really tasty and very generous! We couldn't agree more! The bridal suit (Berkshire Suite) is absolutely stunning! It was the perfect place for me and my bridesmaids to get ready! We honestly couldn't have asked for a more special day from start to finish! Can't wait to be back! Lots of love Mr & Mrs Pinfield
This is a super hotel.. I loved the Garden area attached to hotel.offering view when dining. . Used Spa and pool, particularly have to say young woman in spa was So helpful and particularly accommodating. Restaurant staff very welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed my evening meal, & breakfast was extensive. AS a Female sole traveller felt at ease and relaxed here . WOULD RECOMMEND. Definitely intend to stay here again.
Overall, the hotel had a pleasant atmosphere, though it felt somewhat dated and in need of refurbishment. Many areas appeared tired and shabby, suggesting that a refresh is overdue. The spa itself was a nice feature, but unfortunately, there was visible mould on the walls and on some of the spa pillows. The room was comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep, though it was disappointing to find stains in the toilet. On a more positive note, both dinner and breakfast were nice, with a wide variety of options, and the massages were truly exceptional. However, one of the treatments started five minutes late and ended ten minutes early, which was frustrating given the premium price and the expectation of a full session. A major disappointment came on Friday when we were asked to leave the spa area at 2 PM, even though we were simply relaxing on the outdoor sunbeds and no one else was using the facilities. We were told we could stay only if we paid an additional £35 per person, despite our booking stating “full use of facilities” with no mention of time restrictions. This felt unfair and left us feeling unwelcome, particularly as it seemed we were being treated differently for booking through SpaSeekers. When we raised this with the manager, he confirmed the policy but was vague about the reasoning, only citing two upcoming wedding arrivals. However, at the time, the spa was virtually empty. And if we had paid the £70 then it wouldn’t have mattered about how many people were there which doesn’t make any sense to his original point. It was incredibly disappointing to be asked to leave under those circumstances, especially given the cost of the stay. The lack of clarity and poor handling of the situation ultimately soured what could have been a relaxing experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
