I love staying at the bungalows and listening to the waves all night. I slept great with the doors open to allow the breeze. Watching sunrise with my coffee & the kittens that live there was very peaceful. I try to stay at Freedom Beach as often as possible. Also the manager Mimi is the best! She makes a really good egg sandwich

Ideal value for money. Very large, comfortable and nice rooms. Their only drawback is the thin walls so you will hear your neighbor if he makes any sound louder than a sigh. Some bungalows are double and some are single, so for soundproofing reasons choose the single ones. The beach doesn't function as a beach, but this side of the island isn't typically beach either. If you want a paradise beach go to the Philippines and on Phu Quock choose Sao Beach there is no fooling around. If you are looking for a quiet place on the peaceful side of the island then Freedom is perfect. If you don't like scooters you will become a bit desolate here. So much for practical advice. I sincerely recommend this place!

I recently stayed at Freedom beach resort and, unfortunately, my experience did not align with the expectations set by their promotional images and descriptions. While the location itself is beautiful, the resort appears to be in need of significant upkeep and improvements. The images on the resort's website were obviously from many years ago and show facilities back then, well-maintained grounds, and fresh looking accommodation. However, upon arrival, it became clear that these images are either outdated or heavily edited. Some areas of the resort, including restaurant (Non Existent), shop (non existent) communal spaces (Beach area), showed signs of neglect and lacked the vibrancy depicted online. In addition, the level of service fell short of what was advertised. Staffing seemed limited, which impacted the overall guest experience, including longer wait times and less attention to detail. The advertised activities and amenities were also either unavailable or not up to the promised standard. Whilst we didn't expect Maldives luxury for the price we paid we did expect clean serviceable accommodation with loungers and tables that weren't broken, decking that was not falling through and just a general feeling that they cared about the place. Transparency goes a long way in maintaining trust with guests. For travellers considering staying here, I suggest reaching out to the resort directly for recent photos or updates before booking. We checked out after one night due mainly to the missing restaurant and very limited breakfast and lunch bar food and no evening food as advertised. The owner was informed immediately we discovered the restaurant issues and cancelled our booking and they refunded the remainder of our stay and then marked us as a no show on booking.com which meant we couldn't leave a review on that platform.
