This was our second visit to frixos Hotel and apartments. We visited 9 months ago and will be going back in the near future. This is a lovely family run hotel. The family is so friendly and welcoming that they definitely help make the holiday. It's close to some lovely restaurants, bars, and clubs all within walking distance. The beach is also within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone 😎
My first time in Crete and Frixos hotel. Nico's Frixos Jorgos Maria and the rest of the team are welcoming ,attentive and professional. Terrific value. I have holidayed and lived in Greece for 40 years but Frixos Hotel has the elusive X Factor! I am hoping to come back in September.
This hotel was horrifying. I do not understand the good reviews for this hotel, unless they are being filtered. Firstly, the location was horrible. Not near anything and also hard to find from the transfer drop-off on the main road. Secondly, and MOST disturbingly, the room was filthy. We found bio-hazardous stains on the walls, towels, bed sheets and floor. I have attached just a few of the many photos. We immediately notified staff (it was 1am) and he oddly touched all the stains. He then gave us new towels and sheets - just for those to also be stained and soiled. Thirdly, as it was too late in the night to find a new hotel, we had to try and sleep a few hours. We had to sleep on one bed that we covered ourselves, to avoid touching anything. Young party-goers made loud noises all night, slamming doors, talking and shouting. Someone either banged on our door or leant on it, but it almost sounded like they were opening the door. It was around 4-5am when it (sort of) quietened. The night check-in staff had offered us a different room for the next day, BEFORE we discovered the loudness ourselves, which proves the staff are aware of the issues. Fourthly, when we checked out at around 6:30am, the staff member was very standoffish and defensive. We kindly asked to check out due to how uncomfortable we were, and he was nothing but difficult. He huffed and puffed the entire time. He was more concerned that the TUI Reps were on their way. They charged the tourist tax at check in and he refused to return the tax for the nights we were not going to stay. He also claimed he had "paid it already" and that "14 Euros was not a lot of money to us" and "a lot to him" - which was beyond disrespectful. Thankfully we did not pay for the aircon charge (which was also a joke, considering it was 30+ Degrees Celsius) we would've never seen that money back. We luckily found another hotel, which we practically begged for early check in, so left immediately at 7am. If we couldn't of afforded another hotel, this would've been despicable. This hotel requires so much improvement, it's a joke. I would never recommend this hotel - save your money.
