G8 Luxury Hotel Da Nang

We chose the hotel as it was close to the train station for out heritage train trip to Hue. Check in was poor. Fair enough room wasn’t available at 1pm but we just had to sit and wait with no further communication until 2.30pm. Check in was supposed to be 2pm. We suspect we were forgotten about until my wife caught the eye of one of the reception staff. Plenty of staff but perhaps because of language barrier we just didn’t feel welcome when we arrived. Strangely there was more warmth at check out when they were seeking a good review. Porters are quite happy to let you open your own doors upon returning to the hotel; wouldn’t want to interrupt their chats. Didn’t get to try the pool or gym, but the room was good. High quality, near new fittings and appliances and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is ok, less choices than other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam and less proactive staff. I think the hotel is suited more for local and Korean guests but considering the price we paid, it is fine for a short stay. Perhaps management need to revisit training for dealing with westerners.

Overall a good stay. However, the "Family Suite" layout was a bit unexpected — it's not a true 2-bedroom setup. When you enter the room, you're immediately in the area with two single beds, and to access the inner bedroom, you have to walk through this space. That said, it's a plus that both sleeping areas have their own bathrooms, which adds convenience. Breakfast was average — some days there was a bit too much fried food, and a bit more variety would have been nice. Service was warm and friendly throughout our stay. Staff were always smiling and helpful, which made a positive difference.

Although the hotel isn’t by the seaside, but its location is very close to the railway station and about 10 minutes away from the airport, with some convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Overall, the hotel is clean throughout but there were a few small flies inside the room itself! The view was amazing from my room although the outer glass needed to be cleaned further. I do recommend the hotel for all travellers going to DaNang with an eye for money value and quality!
