Gaia Cosmo Hotel

For the price paid, I would say it’s definitely worth it. The room was clean and comfortable. Location-wise, it’s not really within walking distance to restaurants or food stalls, so you’ll likely need to take a Grab. The surrounding traffic makes it a bit unsafe for walking. Breakfast was quite basic with limited options (nothing special, but acceptable given the price). The front desk staff were friendly and helpful too.

Great decoration and facilities such as gym and swimming pool. Room is also neat and tidy. However there are so many improvement that have to be done. 1. When we arrived it was public holiday. Yes i do understand the hotel was fully booked. But check in time at 3 PM is a little bit outrageous. 2. In the evening at 9 PM, there was a band playing next to the hotel. The sound was heard clearly and loudly even in the room. I think there should be sound proof installed in the room. 3. Next day, breakfast was crazy. The restaurant was chaos. Many buffet wishes were empty and to restock took quite a bit of time. I guess restaurant management was not that well. One more thing, there was one waiter who had big body posture bringing a pan full of soup. He was a little bit rude. I was about to take some fruit, my position was blocking him, but he did not say "excuse me" Instead he was looking at me sharply and just put the pan straight away without even smile. 4. There should be a little extra service for hotel guests. We ordered few rooms for a couple of days. When we asked for welcome drinks the next day, the hotel reception really counted the guests. I think more extra welcome drinks would not make the hotel suffer in financial. That small extra service will make guests recommend for friends and relatives or even will make guests return to stay in that hotel again because of good experience, instead of giving stingy service. I learn a lot from hotels in Bali and other countries that have great hospitality. Well, next time I surely will try other hotels in Jogjakarta. Thank you for once in a lifetime experience.
