Galata Flats

Starting with good, the service was amazing (many thanks to receptionists and lovely ladies–housekeepers), and the location is fabulous – just a minute away from the Galata Tower. The frustrating part was that the rooms are much older than they look on a photo – our air conditioners barely worked with horrible noise, the bathroom door was hard to open and close, and the overall state of flat was below expectations. However, Wifi was great, cleanliness of the rooms is amazing as well and a massive bonus was having access to the rooftop and the tower view.

The flat was very close to the Sishane metro stop, truly about 200 meters. It was very easy to get to the receptionist desk. They helped get us to the flat, around the corner, so we didn't have any problems finding it. The location was great, very close to markets, shops and we found the neighborhood restaurants very convenient and reasonably priced. The best part was the location, you just have to look for the Galata Tower for an easy landmark. The flat was clean and it had the washer/dryer I wanted. The kitchen was minimally equipped. No knife to use for real cutting! Also it would have been nice to have salt and pepper. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors easily. The good thing is that most of the patrons were very considerate so there wasn't any noise to disturb your sleep. The room cleaning service was excellent. I am very pleased with it being every other day rather than daily. It gave me privacy if needed. I do wish the best was more comfortable. It took some time to get used to the firmness. Overall I was happy with the stay.

The rooms are nice and have everything that you need However during our stay we had lots of issues with electricity, heat and the Internet. We had electricity only during the night for 5-6 hours and 2 days without heating and Internet from the 3 days stayed there. We asked the staff why they didn't notice us before booking the hotel or 1 week in advance to change, and they couldn't find a reason and blame the lack of information from the government, however it was full of diesel generators everywhere fact that confirm is not something unexpected They barely managed to give us a refund for the 4 days left, and only after we told them that we would check out and talk with customer support. We checked out early due to this issue and moved to another area where that would not happen.
