Gallery Lux Hotel Baku

This hotel is all about location, service and one person called Mr Gunduz. The hotel manager. I arrived in Baku with zero expectations about this hotel, and turns out i made the BEST choice. This hotel is so accessible to every part of Baku. Xatai Metro Station is at a walking distance. The level of comfort, rooms, and their AC and bathrooms provides, i still miss that. I would like to thank Mr Gunduz again for his hospitality and i will definetely come again and stay here.

Very clean hotel. The service was one of the best I've ever had. The two ladies who brought the breakfast to my room where extremely lovely. The gentleman in the reception was so kind and generous. The hotel is located in a very convenient place, near the train station, restaurants and supermarkets. I highly recommend this place!

Had the misfortune of booking this place for a two nights stay. To put it mildly was an underwhelming experience. The rooms were nothing like the picture. The big building is not fully the hotel. The hotel has about one floor with a tiny three table eating area just above a stairs over the reception where bf is served. Breakfast is very ordinary with breads and cheese and cold cuts. May have to wait if the tables are occupied. Was charged 1300 AZD for two days. The card rate displayed at the reception was a fourth of that. But then hey COP29. While this was outrageous I was given a generous 100 AZD 'discount' after this rip off. Why do I feel it is a rip off. Apart from the location and inoffensive staff (they allowed early check in by a couple of hours), the hotel has no redeeming feature. The toilet seats were stained yellow. Don't dare switch on the AC, it creates a rattling noice and exposes it's innards full of dust from several years. Creaky bed. No mirror in the room or locker. The backside of the cupboard had caved in. This was room no. 10. There were other slightly better rooms which I saw from the outside and requested to be moved but was told were not available. Overall a very run down place, shouting out for basic maintenance. Maybe worth the card rate on display but not a penny more.
