Our family had an amazing stay at Galtenberg Resort. All 12 of us had an incredible time at the hotel, where the rooms were spacious with lovely views of the Alpbach region. The children friendly element of the hotel was particularly impressive, with multiple activities on offer for children, which made it a very pleasant stay for the parents amongst the group. Despite the child friendly element, the hotel does a great job of keeping the children area separate, and so the hotel is also great for non-parents. The food was also of very high quality, offering different dinner options each evening (from the menu with buffet options somewhat similar). Finally, the staff were very helpful, welcoming, and friendly, making our stay one to remember!

We are a family of four with two children aged 9.5 and 3.5, and we visited the Galtenberg in the summer. Our stay during the second week of July was truly exceptional. The resort is perfectly located — neither too high nor too low — at around 1,000 meters of altitude, with cable cars nearby to reach the 2,000-meter mark (free pass included with our stay). Despite being pretty much high season, the atmosphere was always calm and relaxed. We never had the impression that the resort was crowded, whether during meals, kids’ activities, or in the shared areas. The room we stayed in (number 232) was spacious and well-designed, with two separate sleeping areas including bunk beds, a bathroom and separate WC, a “dining” corner and a beautiful terrace — plus convenient rear exit, which was perfect for our small dog. There are both indoor and outdoor parking spaces, as well as multiple EV charging stations available (not sure if 11kw or 22kw as my car as AC max 11kw). Charging is capped at 6 hours with a very reasonable flat rate of €25, regardless of energy used. The amount of entertainment and activities for children is simply outstanding — far beyond our expectations even if we were prepared. From interactive digital game tables spread across the property, to dedicated kids' and junior clubs (both staffed and unstaffed), indoor and outdoor pools, waterslides, splash areas, bowling, a small arcade and much more — boredom is simply not an option here. Even in a bad weather day, it’s impossible not to find something to do. Very interesting the intricate underground passages connecting the various buildings, which allow you to move around comfortably even in bad weather. While initially a bit of a maze, after two days everything feels intuitive and, importantly, the environment is very safe — so much so that we felt comfortable letting our small child roam independently with his brother. There are many well-thought-out details, like a master switch to turn off the kids' TV, monitored or restricted main exits, and dining areas designed to minimize noise and crowding. The robot helpers in the restaurant were a fun touch — they assist the staff and can also be used by guests to transport plates from the buffet to the table, making mealtimes playful and interactive. Speaking of meals, both breakfast and lunch buffets were excellent — always well-stocked, full of variety, and everything was delicious. Dinner included buffet-style soups, salads, cheeses, and drinks, while the main dishes were à la carte: beautifully presented, with just the right portion sizes and excellent quality. A dedicated children’s buffet was always available and set at a height accessible to little ones. The staff truly stood out — courteous, attentive, discreet, and consistently friendly, well above the average. We also loved the traditional attire worn by the staff during mealtimes, adding a nice cultural touch. Finally, the farewell gifts —jam for the adults and cuddly toys for the kids — were a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. In conclusion, the price is absolutely justified for what this resort offers: a perfect balance between understated luxury and family-friendly amenities. A true gem, and one we’ll definitely return to.

We had amazing time here. Even my son said this was one of his best holidays ever. Slops are in walking distance and even the skischool. All staff was very nice. Hotel was clean and food was amazing. Kids club is spacious and there is always activities for all ages.
