Despite the the negative reviews on this hotel, I still see they are trying their best to serve the guests. I was a little bit surprised on my arrival seeing there were some people sitting on the floor near the main entrance to the lobby. Apparently, after reading the other reviews, I understand that there is a dispute going on between the hotel management and their former employees. I hope they could resolve their conflicts soon. We stayed 2 nights on the 12th-14th December 2024 in 2 different rooms. Confirming the other reviews that the rooms look old, the hallways look shabby and damp, but still acceptable for a striving hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable enough to sleep. The hot shower was still running. They just provided 2 bath towels, with no mat for wet floor due to the leaking seals. There were visible wear and tear in the bathroom, but that is also understandable considering it is an old hotel. The bedsheet didn’t smell as others might experienced, though it was not a perfect white color but overall it was clean and comfortable. The main concierge and receptionist counters still look presentable, but very quiet and lack of lighting. So do the hallways going to the rooms. Some people commented that it felt spooky due to the lack of lighting. But, I understand that the hotel is striving and trying to minimize their maintenance cost. The hotel is located strategically. It is just a 5-min walk to the “Alun-alun” (town square), where people gather in the evening with the families and also tourists, taking photos of the central community venue. The staff was friendly and helpful enough when we borrowed a pair of scissors. I read in one of the reviews that their breakfast was delicious. That morning we went to the Green House restaurant for breakfast and experienced it ourselves. They actually had a quite wide range of foods, considering that there weren’t many guests staying. They have Soto ayam, bubur ayam (porridge), pecel, opor, pasta, and the usual bread, fruits and cakes. I tried most of them with little portion. So I gave three stars for the room, four stars for the service and five stars for the location. I think we should support their effort and stay at the hotel, so they have higher occupancy and eventually they need more employees and then they can hire more staff and have the hotel up and running properly again. So, if you just need a place to sleep, I think I can still recommend the hotel with the intention of supporting the hotel and the former employees in dispute.

Have stayed at this hotel 3 times but the last time I realized that the hotel's condition has really declined. Some people at the checking-in counter did not speak english and the nice temporary manager who did told me the hotel was bankrupt which I was not told. Had to change rooms twice, badly outdated and roaches, food limited. Hope it will be renovated soon.

It’s not a place I recommend, at any price. I paid for 4 nights from a third party site, but I’m checking out after 2 nights. The room is humid, there’s AC, but you don’t feel cool. Everything feels damp, and has a musty odor. I bought air fresheners from the store to put in my room, just so I could tolerate it. I knew I wouldn’t get a refund, which is the only reason I stayed for half the time I paid - so it wouldn’t feel like a total loss, but it still does. The ONLY reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because I had conversation with the manager Arif, and I do believe he’s making an effort to improve the hotel, and educate his staff on providing the level of hospitality they should provide. For example: I let him know that at no point in my stay, any of the staff asked how my stay was, or if I was comfortable in my room. I would have told them. But if you don’t communicate with the guests at all, and I’m left unhappy for 2 days - I’m just going to be thinking of how miserable this place is to stay at. I’m checking out after half the time I paid for - that gives you an idea of how terrible my stay was.
