Garni Glurnserhof

Five stars from the moment we arrived! We were a small group of cyclists that arrived after 8:30 PM after a grueling day of cycling. We were welcomed like family. Sylvana, the wonderful matriarch, who is irrepressibly buoyant and tireless in her efforts to serve all of her guests and always with a smile, opened up the kitchen for us and her husband, the chef, made the best pasta dishes for us. And I'm talking GREAT pasta. It set the tone for our 3 day stay. This is a wonderfully hospitable family, the Angerer's, from mom to dad to son and extended family. They just want to serve and make their guests feel welcome and happy. They are absolutely the very best hosts I have ever encountered in decades of travel. They really make you feel like close family and are definitely in the right business! The food, whether the phenomenal breakfasts or sumptuous dinners, are worthy of a top restaurant. The location is prime, maybe 50 yards from the Val Venosta bike path and only a few hundred feet from the center of this charming town, Glurns/Glorenza. The rooms are clean and spacious, many with a balcony. This place is truly a gem. I would go back here in a heartbeat. In fact, out of our nearly 6 week trip, Garni Glurnserhof was our most enjoyable stay due to the grace and infectious enthusiasm of the entire family, but especially Sylvana, who is a pinnacle of hospitality. I would give 6 stars if I could! It's really that good of an experience.

Just like home

This is a very nice family run B&B in the tiny town of Glurns (Glorenza) in the Sudtirol. It was clean and well cared for and the staff was very accommodating. Wifi did not work well in parts of the room, but worked better in the lobby area. The buffet breakfast was extensive with many breads, pastries, meats and cheeses. They had an automatic coffee maker for cappuccino and espresso. They even do dinners for those guests who do not want to drive Malles Venosta. Although not fancy, I would stay there again if I had plans to visit Glurns.
