Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center

We stayed at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center a couple of weeks ago for a large conference, and overall, it was a great experience. The venue itself is beautiful — from the massive indoor atrium to the detailed architecture, it really makes an impression. The convention center is spacious, easy to navigate, and well-equipped, and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained throughout the event, which I appreciated. The hotel rooms were okay—functional but definitely starting to feel dated. The AC in our room struggled to cool things down, even after running all night, so the temperature was warmer than I’d prefer, especially for sleeping. Nothing was broken, but it didn’t feel as polished as the rest of the property. We noticed that some of the security staff around the convention center came across as a bit cold or unwelcoming, which was unfortunate, especially given the friendly vibe of most of the other staff members, who were great to interact with. There’s a nice outdoor water play area for kids, which is a huge plus if you’re traveling with family during large events. That said, morning coffee lines were outrageous—on one morning, the line stretched well out into the lobby. For a venue this size, I think they really need more coffee stations or grab-and-go options to accommodate the crowd during busy hours. Despite a few issues, I’d absolutely stay here again. It’s a well-run, visually impressive resort that works well for large conferences and family visits alike. Just expect a few minor hiccups.

July2025: 4⭐: I would recommend this resort location. The personnel here were great. The building was awesome. I loved the train feature and water feature in the atrium area of the main part of the hotel. The conference areas were huge. The parking areas were far apart but there was plenty of self parking areas.

This resort is very close to the airport which I loved. You could not hear the planes from inside tho. The whole resort is beautifully crafted. How ever the level of service and quality of food left me feeling not impressed. Service was friendly but genuinely didn't see people smile a whole lot, except in the Texan Station. The house keeping staff was amazing and left a personal note each day. I do love that there was an indoor and outdoor pool. Especially if you have kids you can let them swim with out worrying about the heat and sunscreen.
