Extremely nice quiet historic boutique hotel in the heart of Marion, Va. Beautifully appointed rooms with spacious bathrooms. Friendly staff. Excellent onsite restaurant. Walking distance to shops, other restaurants, history museum and the historic Lincoln Theater. Continental breakfast was a little on the lighter side but offered everything you could need. Beverage station offered all day. We definitely plan to stay again.

My daughter called ahead, secured the room, gave her credit card info. I arrived 1st, but could not be checked in because I did not have the credit card used to make the reservation I called my daughter, and she tried to verify the card info that was previously given when the room was reserved. They still would not honor the reservation. They said it was to prevent fraud. I could not be let into the reserved room until I put the charge on MY credit card. This is rediculous especially since my daughter was joining me but was arriving later! Breakfast was a joke! The entrance to the hotel from the parking lot was not very user friendly. I have to be in Marion again in September, and needless to say; I won't be staying here!

Historical (nearly 100 year old) Hotel .. I considered this a boutique experience for nostalgia at best. I did not find it luxurious- even though I paid a premium price. My room was noisy from the HVAC units on the roof, the room rumbled with vibration continually. The small college dorm refrigerator made a whistling sound so loud that it woke me up every 20 minutes (even with my personal sound machine running). The shower water temperature was inconsistent requiring adjustment every 2 minutes - due to it becoming too hot or too cold. I could feel the circular metal bed springs through the mattress top. The lighting in the rooms were on the too dark side. The coffee was too strong and always burnt when I got a cup, if that was actually coffee. In my opinion, this facility is not a disabled person's friend. There are many awkward stairs to navigate in halls that are dark and I was very fortunate not to have been more injured in the spill I took from steps in a poorly lit stairwell. Evidently they have a handicapped entrance and elevator but it was not well marked, or easy to find out about, or find. Some of the staff were excellent, and some were not excellent. I cannot speak to their food, as I did not eat there. I did not see any dedicated handicapped parking, which is sorely needed at this facility. I found the hotel to be clean, And it was an interesting and beautiful hotel. In conclusion, if you have bad eyesight or are disabled I would avoid this hotel.
