We had a wonderful nine-night stay at Germir Palas Hotel Istanbul, a charming hotel in Taksim Square, right in the heart of the Istanbul city center. The location was ideal ..just a short walk to Istiklal Street, with easy access to public transportation, shops, and restaurants. We arrived early in the morning (around 7 AM), and the staff kindly let us check in immediately — such a warm welcome after a long trip! Our Bosphorus view room was absolutely beautiful, with a clear view of the Bosphorus Bridge (Boğaz Köprüsü) that looked especially magical at night. The hotel had a cozy atmosphere and truly felt like a home away from home. Housekeeping was excellent — the room was always clean and tidy. The staff's warm hospitality really made our stay even more pleasant, and we genuinely appreciated their kindness. Breakfast was good, though having a bit more variety would make it even better. The Wi-Fi connection was strong and reliable throughout our stay, which made it easy to stay connected. If you're looking for a comfortable and well-located hotel in Taksim, we recommend Germir Palas — especially for couples or families who want to explore Istanbul easily while enjoying a peaceful stay. I already miss it and hope to come back again soon!
I liked the hotel very much. I read somewhere that Agatha Christie could have lived here. I think the characters in her works could have, too. The hotel is a three-minute leisurely walk from the Taksim metro station and the beginning of Istiklal Street. It's easy to find. Check-in was quick, the receptionist was friendly. The room was quite large and cozy. The furniture was in excellent condition; there was a kettle with tea and coffee supplies, a refrigerator with free water, which was replenished on the second day. The room was clean. It had various nice little things, in particular, slippers, a shoehorn, a sewing kit, etc. The shower had a strong water pressure, hot water was coming straight away. The breakfast was quite decent, there was a choice, everything was of a good quality. Wi-Fi was stable and fast. The only downside for me personally was the thick pillows. Overall, the hotel made an extremely positive impression.
Great location near Taksim Square. The front door is for walking in only, while the back door is used for car drop-off or pickup. The back door isn’t well marked, so it might feel like you’re walking into a bar—but it’s actually the correct entrance. The room itself was okay… Not very soundproof from the street noise.
