Gesar Hotel

When I stay, they provide free oxygen supplies for 4 hours., start midnight. I had comfortable sleep. Where I stay is a modern style design. It come with bathtub, but does it necessary to have it? As they said if u reach high altitude, one should not shower or should not take long.

Do not be fooled by the high ratings on this hotel! There is a block with modern rooms which looks amazing - but we stayed in the section with the traditional Tibetan rooms and encountered multiple problems with the bathrooms, including doors that couldn’t be shut fully and showers with inconsistent water supply. The corridors leading to the rooms are dim and soundproofing is poor. Some of the lift buttons also do not work. The only upside is having our breakfast at the modern block, where the selection was superb 👍🏻

If it’s Tuesday, it must be Shigatze (second biggest city in Tibet) This is a two star hotel level and also I rate it two stars. They have two buildings. The One in the back is modern and chic(we will have breakfast there) the one in the front is old. Old old old and unfortunately not as clean as can be. Make sure you get the right room. We have been here for 5 minutes and the electricity has been out for nearly 2hours. It is supposedly traditional Tibetan style designs and furniture. Very old and need serious updating and cleaning.
