GHL Hotel Portón Medellín

We arrived at GHL Hotel Portón Medellín around noon, a couple of hours ahead of the official check-in time, and were pleasantly surprised when the front desk allowed us to check in early. Initially, we were assigned room 301, but its low floor and obstructed view were a bit disappointing. After requesting a room change, we were upgraded to room 801, where the stunning view truly enhanced our stay. Luis, the bellman, provided excellent service, helping with our luggage and room switch. His warm hospitality truly stood out. The breakfast was impressive, with a wide selection of food, and the staff were very attentive. The hotel’s location in the Poblado area is ideal, with Santafé Mall just a 5-minute walk away, offering plenty of dining options. The only downside was the shower's water pressure, which was disappointingly low and made showering less comfortable. Overall, it was a great stay, and we recommend this hotel for its location, service, and comfort.

General: Location is convenient, close to restaurants and a mall. Food is good. Amenities aren't bad, although the rooms and the gym could be cleaner. The bad: The room service was particularly bad (very slow, and food was often cold). The good (or GREAT): The staff is AMAZING. I specifically want to give a shout-out to Louisa at the front desk. Louisa is amazing, always smiling, and goes above and beyond to accommodate guests' requests. She made our stay at the GHL FANTASTIC. Thank you Louisa, your willingness to go a step further to make your guests' stay better does not go unnoticed, and in our case, made our trip very special!

Hotel is completely worn down and has the charm of a cheap hourly hotel. The water from the toilet was leaking over the bathroom floor etc. We escaped after the first night
