Good place to stay. Its in front of the castle san felipe and everything needed is a few steps away. The service is great the staff is friendly and helpful. If your a first timer to cartagena the staff will give you the run down of how the city works and the culture. They let you know how to be safe and avoid scams and how the money works around here. I would definitely choose this place again.

Amazing hotel, with a direct view on the Fuerte San Felipe de Barajas. A big thank you to the staff that was welcoming from start to finish (reception, restaurant/breakfast, cleaning) and was arranging for a late check-out. I slept very well in this calm hotel. It's a bit outside the historical city center but it can be reached on foot during daytime and taxi at nighttime. The surrounding area has also local interesting restaurants (less pricy than the city center) and a big shopping mall. Thanks again !

The hotel overlooks San Felipe Castle, and this is what drew us to making our decision to stay here over a hotel in the old town or having the beach. On arrival, we were greeted warmly and with welcome drinks. The staff at the hotel overall were very nice and always went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The rooms were large and the bed in particular was very comfortable. My only issue with the room was the air conditioning, which was not very strong. The staff tried to fix it, but it did not improve. My sister was in another room, and the air conditioning in her room worked perfectly. The breakfast was great, and they had an additional menu of free hot offerings to compliment the buffet. You could either sit in the breakfast/bar area or on the terrace overlooking the castle. The pool area was fine but lacked enough sun loungers (only two!). There was plenty of space not utilised that could host more sun loungers, and I hope the hotel considers this, especially as not everybody will be out doing stuff every day. Location wise, it was fine. It is not in the old town, but you can take a taxi, which was inexpensive day and night and took about 5-10 minutes. The bonus was the fact it was opposite the castle and also had a massive shopping centre right behind the hotel, which had everything you could need.
