GINN City & Lounge Yorck Berlin

Staying at GINN was a great experience! The rooms were great and comfortable, and the hotel is located in a great part of the city too. The staff are friendly and helpful, too. I loved the breakfast and made it easy to start the day, which the breakfast offerings changed a bit during my stay. The change in offerings helped to make the breakfast exciting throughout the entire stay. I would highly recommend staying here! The only thing that wasn't superb was that the shower let out some water since the bottom seal wasn't complete.

This hotel served its purpose for us. We mostly were just there to sleep for four nights while visiting family in Berlin. Pros: clean, good location, and we had a quiet room facing the courtyard. Cons: the sheets (and toilet paper) were both like sandpaper. Seriously need to upgrade the sheets and duvet cover. One flat pillow for each of us, but we did request an additional pillow, which made all the difference. we spent a little bit extra for a room with a patio, and I don’t recommend doing that because there’s absolutely no privacy so we had to keep our curtains drawn whenever we were there. Otherwise, a pleasant room.

I liked the room because it's spacious and functional. There are not many amenities in the room though, such as a coffee machine, hot water boiler and just one bottle of water for the entire stay. The rest of the hotel lacks of charm and warmth, especially the corridors. The location is quite good, between two parks, perfect for a walk with my dog. And it's not far from Uban and bus. There are some good cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood. The biggest perk of the location is that there is a zone of free street parking. It can be difficult to find a spot but it's great if you find one and park your car for a few days. The cleaning team did a fantastic job to keep the room clean and tidy everyday, especially considering the fact that my dog sheds a lot of hair during the summer. The room feels like new everyday. However, only small complaint is that some staff don't always knock before entering the room. It happened twice during the stay. One stupid incident which reduces the good impression of the stay is that when I asked for a bottle opener at the reception, the staff at the reception simply refused to give it to me, as he claimed that too many bottle openers had been lost. And he prefers the guests to bring the drinks downstairs to open them. I understand the annoyance of losing bottle openers but seriously, punishing all guests and removing it from all the rooms, and it's just not customer friendly to ask the guests to do extra efforts and put the guests in inconvenient situations. Who would bring drinks to the reception several times a day and even during the night? i really didn't like this unhelpful and unfriendly gesture.
