Gion Hatanaka

A really wonderful little hotel tucked away in Gion. One of the people I was traveling with said "This is exactly what I pictured for a hotel in Japan." My family and I stayed in two king sized rooms with a connecting door. We had a small patio overlooking the street and my other family members had a tatami sitting space. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were great. Everything seemed new or very well cared for. The beds were comfortable and they provided several smaller bonus amenities (toothbrushes, sunscreen, umbrellas, laundry, etc.). We found the breakfast very good and ate there every day. It was very conveniently located for our purposes. I also believe almost all the staff we encountered spoke English which was helpful at times, and they were very welcoming and responsive.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely peaceful area of Kyoto close to tourist attractions. Excellent facilities in Gion Elite Terrace, great complimentary coffee machine in reception among other amenities for guests the best being a complimentary laundry fully equipped which is fantastic when you are travelling from city to city and its 38 degrees

What a great hotel, I stayed here for 5 days and really enjoyed my stay. The location is only a few minutes walk to the Yasaka pagoda and the Kiyomizu-Dera temple. The rooms are clean, spacious and modern. My kids especially loved the free latte machines in the lobby, they grabbed a matcha latte every time they passed by. All The concierge staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Zenadine. He helped me ship my luggage to my hotel in Tokyo and even called the hotel to arrange it, great service!
