Glamping Alcantara

We were greeted by Tiziana, a friendly and very helpful person. The tent was clean, as was the entire property. The only small flaws were the missing phone, the lack of night reception, and the bar being closed after 5:00 PM.

If you are looking for a quiet Glamping then this is not the place for you. The tents are close to a busy road, which causes a lot of noise pollution. During our stay we experienced a performance on 2 evenings and the other 9 days we clearly heard the performance in the gorge that played twice an evening (7:30 PM and 10:00 PM). They are currently working on constructing a railway line with a platform next to the Glamping. The work (leaf blowers/brush cutters, etc.) at the Glamping/Kloof started around 7:00 am, so sleeping in was not an option. The free WiFi was not available nor was the promised view of Etna. The breakfast service is fine, although there were no eggs available for a few days. Unfortunately, the employees speak little or no English (long live Google Translate). They are very friendly and were regularly asked if we needed clean linen and towels. The tents are spacious and there is plenty of storage space. Unfortunately, the inventory of the kitchen is very limited, but we managed with it. The air conditioning is certainly nice during the warm summer months. It's a shame that there are only 2 lounge chairs for a tent that can accommodate 5 people, because sitting on a picnic table all evening is no fun. The swimming pool is not that big, I'm guessing around 110 cm deep. During the day there are people from outside who also use the swimming pool and it is sometimes very busy. The spray park is fun for the younger children. The glamping is an excellent starting point for trips to Toarmina, Messina, Catania or Etna. A quad tour through the valley is highly recommended. If you want to visit the gorge, I would not choose the elevator, it costs €9 pp, if you take the stairs you will spend €2 pp.
