Glenesk Hotel

Absolutely fantastic. Just here for food, drinks and great service. Great welcome and wonderful spirits bar but I'm a beer dude so that was good too. Food was high quality and attentive service too so I highly recommend this. The hotel reception areas were sublime too but I never saw any rooms or anything like that so no rating for rooms because of that

A lovely, welcoming, properly traditional hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were fresh and clean (I liked the decor .) The food was delicious! The only disappointment was the shower in the bathroom. Water flow was a trickle and there was no hot water.

Very very poor. Afternoon tea, a couple of pieces of sandwiches and a few small cakes and a cup of tea or coffee that you need to pour yourself and it costs £32.50 including for children and if those children are not drinking tea then your paying for drinks for them on top of the cost. Sausage rolls, 1 each and they are the size of the small ones you get at parties (3cm long maybe). Toilets were in need of a good once over and the fire in the room where they serve the afternoon tea has old bits of rubbish just thrown into it. It's just really very poor value for money compared to what else is available out there.
