I just stayed a week at Global Luxury Suites at National Mall in DC - here's the deal: PROS: + Location is fantastic, period. + Room was clean, equipped as promised. + Building was staffed (a front desk person) and easy check-in and out + Their app is bare bones, but slightly helpful for check-in and policies + if you're willing to do some laundry and you want to make your own meals sometimes, this place is just fine + gym isn't bad - has the basics CONS: - This is NOT a hotel, in the traditional sense - you have to know that going in. It's more like an airbnb with an off-site owner. - No room service or maid service - you're doing your own laundry and dishes, as needed. - Our room came with one towel, one set of sheets (in spite of sofa bed, no sheets for it) - Early check-in (even an hour early) costs money - a lot of money So I'd recommend it, but with those FYIs. If you want maid service or a bell desk, this is not for you. But if you just need a home base and want a full kitchen, this is super.

The management company of this property secretly downgraded my reservation and tried to cash-in on the property price difference. When caught, they cancel our reservation on the day of our arrival. I booked the Superior Apartment back in January 2019 which can accommodate up to 6 people. At the time we were only a party of 3. Closer to our departure date in April 2019, I changed the reservation to 5 people. The booking travel agency didn't give me any problems nor charged me more money because the Superior Apartment has one set price. When I called the property management company, a week prior to our arrival, to inquire about the bed logistics of the apartment, they got very angry… On the day of our arrival the property management company tried to cancel my reservation because of some "credit card problems." There was no credit card problems! In fact, they wouldn't accept cash. They just couldn't deliver on the reservation. They had rented out the Superior Apartment to another family and only had available an apartment for 4 people. They were trying to pocket the price difference. In the end, they cancel our reservation. The travel agency found us two hotel rooms and reimbursed us the difference in cost.

AVOID ALL GLOBAL LUXURY SUITES! The company charged me for an extra day and has refused to acknowledge the error even though I have offered to show flight records that I was no longer even in DC. They have been completely horrible when attempting to rectify this and are refusing to refund me for their error. Do everything you can to avoid this brand. They will fraudulently charge your credit card for nights you weren't even there.
