My family and I recently had one of our most memorable vacations at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa. The hospitality was so exceptional and the amenities so engaging that we found little reason to leave the resort for our entire stay. While every aspect was excellent, I must give special recognition to the culinary experience, led by the brilliant Chef Duttaguru and his team. Their skill and warm service made every meal a highlight. As someone who has traveled across three continents and grown up with the rich food scenes of Delhi and Bangalore, I can say without hesitation that the food here is unparalleled. The North and South Indian cuisine is, quite simply, the best I have ever tasted. To be specific, Chef Duttaguru's signature Daal is superior to the famed Daal Bukhara, and the breakfast dosas with their authentic Chennai Sambhar surpassed even the finest I've had during my years in Bangalore. We wholeheartedly recommend the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa to anyone seeking a truly relaxing experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.Thank you again for the incredible hospitality.
Overall, it was an amazing stay at Marriot. The service and hospitality of all of the staff members were impeccable; the staff were super friendly and kind and were ready to help us with anything. Furthermore, the food at this resort was immeasurably outstanding and delicious, specifically the waterfront terrace and bar restaurant. The amenities were also phenomenal and included a hot tub, a steam room, a spa, and 2 swimming pools along with poolside and beachside seating areas. However, despite the resort having a recreational room - a pool table, a table tennis table, a chess board, and a scrabble board - the room was in a dilapidated and decrepit state. The chess and scrabble boards were also missing pieces. Additionally, the general impression of the interior of the resort was a bit squalid and neglected. Moreover, the rooms were in an unkempt position. For example, the grouting of the shower was yellowish-black. In spite of all this, the hospitality and kindness of the staff definitely made up for everything. A special thanks to: Shilpa - service director Rachel - front desk Shivram - concierge Sweta - restaurant attendant Balvindar - sous chef
Elite Experience Did Not Meet Expectations While the resort itself is visually impressive and offers a pleasant ambience, the service I received as a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member was below the standard I associate with the brand. At check-in, there was no recognition of my Elite status, no proactive communication about resort facilities or breakfast timings, and no staff member to guide us to the room. We were left to locate it on our own, which did not set the right tone for the stay. The handling of luggage was also unsatisfactory. Our bags were delivered late, and despite reserving two rooms, all luggage was placed in one without consultation or notification. This lack of attentiveness caused unnecessary inconvenience and is not reflective of the service level expected at a Marriott property. Although the reception staff were courteous, they appeared reactive rather than proactive — information was only provided upon request, with no effort made to anticipate guest needs or acknowledge loyalty. By contrast, the restaurant team demonstrated professionalism and genuine attentiveness. Their thoughtful gesture on the day of departure was both noted and appreciated, and stood out as the highlight of the service experience. Overall, while the property is aesthetically pleasing and the restaurant staff delivered commendable service, the shortcomings in front desk operations and luggage management left a lasting impression of inconsistency in the recognition and care provided to Elite members
