Hotel is very old but Beautiful and maintained. I stayed two night with family and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is good with good variety. There is swimming pool and health club which you can access without any extra charge.
We arrived late night yesterday as the travelling got stuck with some issues. Checking in was supposed to be smooth but then the front office staff wanted to hold the passport as they could not copy it on time. We insisted on having it ready immediately as safety matters. They did and passed them on. Clearly they didn't understand the importance of passport safety. The room was ok but no hot water was available at 1130pm. This is rather ridiculous for some frequent travellers. Some fixtures in the room look very old. Bed was away too soft which was not so comfortable. The breakfast and lunch in Golden Mushroom was amazing. We got served by Anjali for lunch. Food orders were repeated and she was just pleasant. Room was not cleaned when we were out today. Informed Housekeeping and we hope it will be cleaned by the time we will arrive. There is room for improvement for this hotel. Overall good stay.
I had a disappointing experience at Hotel Godwin in Haridwar. The staff behavior was unwelcoming and lacked basic courtesy. The food quality, especially in the buffet, has significantly deteriorated-I’d recommend avoiding the buffet system as it felt misleading and not worth the price. For example, one of the restaurant staff members was particularly rude and gave the impression that guests were not valued. Additionally, the room service was poor: the fridge in the room was not functional, there was a strong unpleasant odor in the blankets and room, and despite booking six rooms, none were provided before 2:00 PM. While the hotel strictly adheres to check-in policy, they fall short on food quality, staff behavior, and overall service.
