Room was clean and the bed comfortable, plenty of pillows, clean towels, iron, safe, drinking water etc. Great environmental plan with water refills. Noise from nearby building works didn't disturb me. Shower had 4 taps and a mystery as to what they did, I was able to work out the main 2 taps (hot and cold water). Breakfast options were slightly limited - no toaster, baked beans, mushrooms, cooked tomatoes. Bar - could be located in a nicer space and needs a solution to mosquitoes in the area.
This building has apartments that are not part of the hotel, but listed with the hotel on Booking.com. These apartments are DISGUSTING. They look old and nasty. The bed sheets had holes in them, the toilet didn't flush, the hairdryer didn't work, and mold all over the place in the shower (see photo).
I chose the hotel due to it being on a safe area and being a Grand Mercure. We were on the 3rd floor, sound isolation was miserable and I heard construction every day, including Sunday. The balcony windows did not close. The hallway smelled of marijuana 2 days. So not impressed.
