Golden Gate Resort

Booked on Booking.com in 01/25 (for July GC marathon weekend), at a price seemingly too good to be true. Our trip was cancelled at the very last minute 3 days from the trip. Backwards & forwards with Booking.com, finally got onto the actual reception who abruptly reported a "plumbing issue" with zero further information offered & sending the issue back to Booking.com. Seemed a little coincidental only a few days prior to a very busy & expensive Gold Coast accommodation scene for that weekend.

The only thing going for this place is that it's close to the beach and it's near the tram. Value for the room was terrible, our room had no aircon! And I was told it wouldn't be fixed in the period we were staying there. The staff honestly had very little knowledge of the venue, and I caught one of the reception staff smoking in the pool area. Honestly management need to be pulled into line. I was also approached by the cleaning and trade staff working outside for a small chat and was told that they hadn't been paid over the previous 2 weeks. Seems like a lot of miss management going on. Wouldn't come back here next time I'm at the gold coast

Extremely rude and unfriendly attendants, don't buy in this building. They won't even allow you to walk your dog along the driveway. Dodged a bullet there.
