Golden Luxury Suites

Amazing new boutique hotel above Bali harbor. We had the two bedroom suite. The extra room was great! A hiccup: we used Booking to get a room. When we arrived, the hotel did not have it or an empty room. Perhaps because it is new, the reservation systems were not adequately linked? Either way, we found an alternative for two nights and came back for the rest of our stay. The manager was very apologetic. Perhaps book directly, which is better for the hotels anyway.

Nice rooms with balconies and a rooftop pool with sea view. We booked a room with a mountain view, but got a ground-floor room facing a street and another building (which is not ideal, but can happen). Breakfast was decent. However, many services advertised were either misleading or unavailable. The “24-hour reception” is only open from 9:00 to 18:00, which we weren’t informed about. There’s no restaurant – only a snack bar that remained closed all day, allegedly due to staff shortage. The sauna (for 2 people max) wasn’t usable – full of stored items, and the “gym” was just a single machine in a storage-like room. Staff was generally kind, though communication was difficult due to poor English. Management responded to our concerns but offered no real solution and eventually told us we could just leave if we weren’t happy. Disappointing experience for the price, you can definitely find cheaper and more “luxury” accommodations nearby.

We stayed two nights at Golden Luxury Suite in September. We got a 15 sq. m double room instead of a 40 sq. m suite as per room description (room 10). The room was so small that there was no space to open the luggage. Not a « junior suite » that you would expect. And there was no sofa bed as published on the website. In addition, the balcony was only 2 sq. m. That was really disappointing. By check out we asked for a commercial gesture but the manager wasn’t accommodating and only granted us a 10% discount. Thus I would strongly recommend to double check the room size in advance. The terrace is lovely although the swimming pool is very small. The bedding is very comfortable. However, definitely not a Golden Luxury Suite experience! Website needs to be updated!
