Golden Palace Batumi - A Detailed Review Golden Palace Batumi is a great choice for those looking for comfort, elegance, and a central location in the heart of the city. Our experience at this hotel was overall pleasant, with a few highlights worth mentioning. Location & Atmosphere The hotel is conveniently located near Batumi’s main attractions, making it easy to explore the city. It offers quick access to the beach, shopping areas, and cultural landmarks. The building itself has a modern and stylish design, with a welcoming lobby that immediately gives a sense of luxury. Rooms & Comfort The rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The beds are comfortable, and the cleanliness is top-notch. We had a room with a city view, which was a nice touch. The only downside was that the soundproofing could be better, as we could occasionally hear noise from the hallway. Dining Experience The hotel offers a good selection of food at its restaurant. The breakfast buffet was diverse, with fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, and local Georgian delicacies. The quality of the food was impressive, and the staff was always attentive and helpful. Service & Facilities The staff at Golden Palace Batumi were friendly and professional. I am currently a "guest" at the Golden Palace Hotel in Batumi and for the first time in my life I feel compelled to write a bad review for anything. I'm genuinely pretty relaxed and forgiving, but this has honestly been hell. When I arrived, my room had a smell of raw sewage and there was mould in the shower (I have photos) and either blood or red wine drops scattered throughout the floor (I also have photos). The air conditioning would not go below 26 degrees and after calling reception twice and eventually attending the front desk, no less than 3 different "technicians" attended my room over 4 hours (as if I had no where better to be than waiting in my room), each one assuring me that they had fixed it. None of them had. Ultimately I convinced one of the receptionist to come to my room to see for herself and she assured me that the temperature was only stuck on 26 degrees because I had been regularly opening the balcony door. I hadn't opened it for hours but she didn't believe me so demanded I leave it for an hour and see if it went down. I left the hotel for 2 hours, came back and the temperature in my room had not budged. Eventually I convinced one of the receptionists to move me to another room. Thankfully this room didn't smell like sewage, but as I finally tried to relax I realised the TV didn't work. I called reception and was told a technician would be on their way. One hour passed and no one turned up. When I called reception they said the technician was busy but would be there in 15 minutes. When I called up 20 mins later the receptionist hung up my call instead of speaking to me. When the technician finally arrived, he turned the TV off and on, realised that didn't fix it, and left. 45 minutes later (passed 10pm at this point) I called reception and asked them not to worry about the TV as I needed to sleep. At 10.47pm (I was in bed), the technician knocked on my door and walked in to "fix" the TV. As it stands, the TV is STILL broken, it has two channels and neither work properly (I have more photos). But the thing is, I can understand when things break, the issue is how the staff have treated me at every step of the way. I have been treated with contempt for bothering the reception with my problems as though wanting working AC and a TV was somehow excessive. Not one person has apologised. Everyone at reception roll their eyes as I approach the desk and quickly assure me it is not their problem but someone else's. I have visited 74 countries, I have never written a bad review for a hotel before, but I am going to be publishing my review for my stay here on every single platform I can find. It has been, without question, the single worse customer experience of my life. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to say this unequivocally in a review - do not stay here. Don't do it to yourself. They clearly do not want you here.
