Golden Sand Resort & Spa Hoi An

Beautiful rooms. Great location. Even by Vietnamese standards the staff are excellent. Nothing was too hard for them. They are very attentive and polite. They arranged for an extra bus to the town when we neglected to book. Helped us out with any issues we had. They even reheated our street food that we brought back from the Ancient Town.

Really enjoyed the few days spent here. Went a bit over board with a beach front suite and private dinner on the beach, but I wasn't disappointed. The sandy white beach is on par with many other more prominent locations such as Grand Cayman etc... Unrelated to the hotel, but it is not as advertised as a great tailor destination. Very poor quality suits / shirts.

Stayed for 7 nights in September. Most days were mid 30's Celcius and the sun was out. The pool is the highlight here. It's huge and there was plenty of room for all the guests to spread out and enjoy it. It's a constant 1.4 mtrs deep from end to end. There is a toilet at each end and a pool bar on the south side. There is a dedicated toddler pool and kids pool with pirate ship and fountain. Everyone should be happy. There is no water jet spa on site or sauna or steam room. The beach is close to the pool area however due to erosion is has been replaced with rocks. You will need to go further north if you want to swim off the beach. The room i stayed in is called a junior suite. It has a large king bed with comfortable mattress and pillows there is also a small lounge area with a private patio. The ceilings are high and there is a bath and shower. Only one vanity is provided and the area around it is quite cramped for two to share. On site there are 4 places to get food. A main restaurant which also provide the buffet breakfast. I would rate the breakfast as 3 star average quality and range. Food options are basic and not worthy of a 5 star rating. I did not eat at any of the other locations on site and from what i could tell nobody else did either. The prices in the resort for food are app 5 x the price for the same quality at local food outlets. Options for meals in the old town are much more plentiful and a lot cheaper. The wifi on the site was present in the pool area and the rooms however the performance was 1 star only. You will not be getting a very good upload or download speed at this hotel so be warned if that's important. The resort and rooms are clean and well maintained and the staff are pleasant and helpful. You can always get a Taxi at the front door as there is a Taxi rank directly across the road. It's about 90- 100VND to the centre of Hoian township. After visiting town and looking around at other Hotels i would stay in a different location if i ever came back. It has a good pool here and that's what the kids wanted so everyone was happy enough. There are cheaper options closer to Hoian town if you prefer the village atmosphere and varied dining options.
