This is a review for the Golden Sun Resort & Spa, not the all inclusive hotel next door. In a word, excellent! Lovely equipped clean rooms, and the private pool was the standout feature! 2 minutes walk from the lovely quiet beach and beach bar. 5 mins to the plethora of excellent restaurants and bars. Special mention to the excellent staff too. Will definitely be back.
3rd time we’ve been to this hotel, because we really had a great time and experience each time. On arrival, the reception staff are so welcoming. A gentlemen took us and our luggage to our room, which had a balcony with a view of the pool. The rooms are spotless due to the hard work of the ladies who clean them. The whole dinning experience is great with a meet and greet gentleman to help and guide you, the tables are cleared quickly by the restaurant team and the food is deliciously cooked by the kitchen staff with fresh food topped up regularly. Sitting around the pool where the pool team keeps things running smoothly is so relaxing. At night we were served by John and Dennis who kept everyone happy and merry. The beach is few minutes walk, the shops 10 minutes away, and there is a bar at the top of the Road where you can relax with a drink and watch the planes landing and taking off. We hired a quad to tour the Island and experience the culture, so all in all yet another great holiday suitable for couples and families.
The rooms were clean, but they didn't quite match the pictures shown online. The location is great though — just a short walk to the beach. Food was edible but quite repetitive, just presented under different names. At the pool, you can get fries and drinks, which is convenient. One downside is the thin walls; you can hear a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. Some of the staff were nice and friendly, which was a plus. Important Warning: Do not leave valuables in your room. There were incidents where items went missing, and cleaners "found" them in strange places afterward. Management didn’t take responsibility. Also, avoid ordering a taxi through the hotel — it costs more than a regular one from the street. Make sure to reserve your sunbed early in the morning. By 9 AM, it's often too late to find a good spot. Overall, not the worst stay, but far from great — 2 out of 5 stars.
