Nice older hotel at a great location. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Very friendly service. Opposite very nice arts and car museum. Fantastic fire place.

The hotel is located in a very quiet area - right in front of the Caramulo Museum. Both outside and inside pools are pleasant to use. Some people complain about the indoor pool water not being hot. In my view it's not supposed to be hot. It's not cold either - Perfect temperature IMO. However, i'm not so sure about the 4 starts rating. The rooms are not well maintained; it was cleary visible that behind the toilet it hasn''t been cleaned in a long time; there's an alarming amount of dust on the bed blanket (was it ever washed?!). That might be an issue for someone with allergies. The room floor is also all carpeted. The shower was leaking a bit. The restaurant is buffet style with only 2 options: fish or meat. Desserts are store bought. Breakfast is fabulous. Staff is friendly and competent.

Friendly staff as well as a charming lobby and great view from the room are positives about this hotel. My stay was however very disappointing for the following reasons: The hotel is in an overall state of disrepair and neglect, with mould and rust gathering round the ceiling and the plumbing, not only in the rooms but also in the common areas. The air conditioning system in the room was not working. The water in the swimming pool was cold and there were not enough deck chairs for the number of guests. Also, there was no lifeguard or any other staff attending the swimming pool or the gym. The poor quality of services provided makes you wonder about the 4 stars and the SPA mention in the hotel name. Very much below expectation.
